About NDA
The National Defence Academy (NDA) is a premier training institution for cadets to prepare for leadership roles in the Indian Armed Forces. The NDA exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and is a stepping stone for those who wish to serve in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force. The exam tests candidates on their general knowledge, mathematics, and reasoning ability. Successful candidates go on to receive extensive training in military tactics, leadership, and physical fitness at the NDA before being commissioned into their respective branches.
Eligibility For NDA
To be eligible for the NDA exam, candidates must be Indian citizens and unmarried males between the ages of 16.5 and 19.5 years. They must have completed or be appearing in their Class 12 exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Candidates must meet the required physical and medical standards to be eligible for selection. NDA also has certain educational and physical requirements that candidates must meet for different branches of the armed forces.
